Description

An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXVII No. 2249. It was copyrighted by the Arkell Publishing Company on 110 Fifth Avenue and published in New York on October 20, 1898. The front cover done by F. Cresson Schell shows the U.S. Navy in action with the title,"Another Triumph for Hobson." The caption at top reads "A quadruple=page picture of the formidable Navy of the United States, comprising over a hundred vessels, drawn by the famous marine artist. F. Cresson Schell, will be part of our next issue." The caption at the bottom reads, "The Ex-Spanish Cruiser 'Infanta Maria Teresa,' Sunk in the Action of July 3d, Raised by the Efforts of the Heroic Lieutenant, and Added to the United States Navy, Less than Three Months after the Battle of Santiago."
