An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXIX No. 2305, it was copyrighted by the Judge Publishing Company in New York on November 11, 1899. The front cover features an illustration of a woman holding a newspaper and a grieving family with the title "Sad News From the Far-Off Philippines" and the caption "The list of the killed and wounded brings desolation to a soldier's household." Drawn by our special artist, now at Manila, Sydney Adamson. The top reads "the Bloody War in the Transvaal - Can the Boers win? - see pages 385 and 388.
