Description

An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXVIII No. 2281, it was copyrighted by the Arkell Publishing Company in New York on June 1, 1899. The front cover features a photo of General Frecerick Funston with the title "Brigadier-General Frederick Funston, the Fearless Kansas "Bantam." and the caption "One of the smallest and one of the braveset men in the war. He led the famous twentieth Kansas volunteers in their heroic campaign in the Philippines." At the top it reads "The war in the jungle - remarkable photographs in this issue."
