Telegram from Quanajay, Cuba to Quemados, Cuba. The telegram consists of a tyepwritten message on yellow paper, using form 124. Headings on the page are written first in Spanish with the English translation beneath. The message reads as follows: "Chief Commissary, Four hundred and seventy five pounds of fresh fish needed for issue on friday, august eleventh. Wilcox, Commissary." The back of the page consists of the following, with the information being written in Spanish, with the English translations beneath. "The Government will not be responsible for errors in transmission of telegrams, nor for the identity of the person to whom it is addressed, nor for the indemnity in cases arising from delay, misintrepretation, or loss of telegrams. The following tariff will be collected for messages transmitted over the United States Military lines of Cuba: For the first 10 words 20 cents, address and signature counted. For each additional word 2 cents. For telegrams destined to points outside of Cuba, 4 cents per word, in addition to the cable tolls."
