Color postcard. The image is that of McKinley holding a sheet of paper in his left, with right hand in his pants pocket. He is wearing a white shirt and vest, black jacket with a carnation on the left lapel, a black bow tie, and grey pants. McKinley is standing behind a dais with bunting. The red and white stripes of the U.S. Flag are behind McKinley in the upper left corner.
the caption on the back reads as follows. "William McKinley 25th President of the United States Here pictured as he addressed people attending the Pan-American Exposition at Buffalo, N.Y., Sept. 5, 1901. The following day he was felled by an assassin's bullet at a reception in his honor at the Temple of Music on the Exposition grounds. He died Sept. 14 at the home of his Buffalo host, John G. Milburn. Mr. McKinley was the third President to be assassinated. He served with gallantry in the Civil War rising through the ranks to Second Lieutenant. The President and his family are entombed in Canton, Ohio."Collection
