The letter is type written on stationery that bears the letterhead:
H. VAN BUREN MAGONIGLE
ARCHITECT
7 WEST THIRTY-EIGHTH STREET NEW YORK
In re. McKINLEY MEMORIAL April 26th, 1907.
John H. Holl, Esq.,
My Dear Mr. Holl:-
With infinite regret I have
to inform you that we must procure the services of a
surveyor other than yourself, for the Memorial work.
I have arrived at this decision, after serious thought,
and I repeat, with regret, for I have the highest regard
for your personal qualities.
The condition of the work there is such how-
ever, that it requires more systematic and efficient
services in the matter of surveying, than you have proved
able to supply.
Very truly yours,
H. Van Buren Magonigle [Signature]
