William McKinley Jr. was born January 29, 1843. He was the seventh of nin children. Will was cheerful and kind. He was stocky built, pale complexion with gray eyes.
He liked to swim and ice skate with friends at Mosquito Creek.
But what he loved most was making and flying kites, and going barefooted. Plus he dreamed of being President.
Father McKinley ran an iron foundry.
Mother McKinley took care of the Methodist church.
They lived in Niles. It's located in Northeast Ohio. It was a rural town only 300 people but it had several stores and businesses, plus three churches and a school.Collection
