Description

Color print of an Image that appeared in Judge Magazine. The print shows McKinley in "The Administration Sleigh" followed by a group of men chasing after him moving toward the US Capitol. Bliss has already hitched his sled to the sleigh. Quay, Cullom, Harrison, Hoar, John Sherman, Platt, Boutelle, Elkins, Ingalls, Clayton, Agnus, Burrows, Alger, DePew, Reed, Allison, Porter, Hiller, Proctor and Dingley are all chasing the sleigh. The Gross National Product sleigh which had been carrying DePew has overturned. This was published in Judge, January 1897. This chromolithograph is 12 x 20 inches in size with wide margins. Framed dimensions are 16 x 20 inches. Judge was a weekly satitical and humor magazine published in New York that contained very displayable color lithographs of caricatures and cartoons on a weekly basis. It was published from 1881-1947. Judge magazine cartoonists often attacked the Democratic administration and supported the Republican party. The image is in a rectangular glass frame, with peg board backing and held together with two metal clips on each side.
