Small carved coconut shell. According to the provenance note for 2010.1.1938. The note reads: "This hand carved cocoanut shell was sent to Mr. Allen Cairnes of Canton, the father-in-law of Mr. William E. Strassner, one of Canton's foremost citizens. Mr. Cairnes was a law partner of William and Abner McKinley, and it was through the efforts of Mr. Cairnes with President McKinley that a friend of his was appointed minister to Panama. In return for this favor this shell was sent. Information and shell obtained from Mrs. Katherine Werley, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Strassner. Dater August 17, 1962."Collection
