This photograph depicts a banquet held in William McKinley's honor at the home of Marcus Alonzo Hanna (seated at far right, head of table). Hanna was a wealthy Cleveland industrialist and leader in the Republican Party who was instrumental in getting McKinley on the 1896 presidential ticket. Hanna raised a record-breaking amount of money for that campaign, $ 3,500,000.
