II. Trish Scarmuzzi gave a brief description of the committees and their responsibilities. She passed around examples of items from the 75th anniversary, including copies of the invitation, menu, final cost sheet, and guest list.
III. Discussion occurred about the number of guests expected. At the 75th anniversary, 139 people attended, so the centennial might have 150 attendees. Tony Ciminero of Ciminero's catering agreed to look into the catering. He stated that it would not be difficult for him to get the food to the auditorium, however, the possibility of having the dinner at the banquet hall followed by speakers and dancing at the auditorium was also discussed. Miss Scarmuzzi and Mrs. Martin mentioned that it would be great to have everything in the auditorium, since we are honoring the centennial of the building. Discussion occurred about having long vs round tables. More can be seated and it is easier to move between long tables. Mike Wilson also suggested that we contact the Regional Chamber to include someone from there on the planning committee. Susan Rossi-Wilcox asked about the possibility of having a "McKinley menu" featuring foods that were McKinley's favorites. Michelle Alleman suggested that contact could be made with the Canton McKinley Museum (Christopher Kenney) to look into the menu they used there. It was also suggested that Bill Billion be contacted regarding designing the centerpieces. Stephanie Sferra of the Trumbull tourism Bureau be invited to join the planning committee. Discussion about having a separate re-dedication on October 5 open to the public occurred. Discussion about holding appetizers in the courtyard prior to the dinner occurred. Miss Scarmuzzi passed around examples of the ornament for the fundraiser. Prices from ChemArt range from $9-25 dollars, depending on the style selected. Bob Fowler said the he could do the photos of people at the dinner. Bob Fowler also stated that we would have to apply for a one-day liquor license if liquor is to be served at the dinner. Bob Fowler also asked about selling the limited edition prints of the Memorial that were sold several years ago as a fundraiser. He mentioned that they sold at $40 apiece.
