Description

A small photograph of one of the First Methodist Church located in Canton, Ohio. The picture was taken at an angle from above and shows the tall steeple on the left, an adjoining building, another building in the background and the street where it is located. William McKinley began attending this church when he moved to Canton, Ohio in 1867 to begin his law practice. Ida later attended this church with William. Printed on the photograph is a description that reads "WHERE McKINLEY WORSHIPPED, THE FIRST ME. CHURCH." This is part of a set of 10 black and white souvenir "Genuine Photographs" of President William McKinley packaged in a manilla shipping envelope.
