Scope and Content

This item is a colored postcard with an image of President McKinley's tomb in Canton, Ohio. There are guards stationed in front of the door to the tomb. The tomb is decorated in flowers. There is also an oval portrait of President McKinley on the upper left hand corner. This tomb was the original tomb of President McKinley before his body was moved to the Canton memorial after construction. On the back, postcard has a one cent stamp of Benjamin Franklin and has 2 postmarks one from Akron Oct 21 1907 and one from Anderson Oct 22 1907. The postcard is addressed to "Mr. Robbert Lake 510 W. 5th St Anderson Ind." Text, "Rob did Henry get the postal I sent him from Akron." Published by Emile Chmelitzki, Canton and Akron, Ohio, U.S.A. Printed in Germany.
