An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXVII No. 2237, it was copyrighted by the Arkell Publishing Company in New York on July 28, 1898. The front cover features a drawing by Dan Smith of U.S. soldiers fighting the Spanish American War using cannons with the title "Our Formidable Siege-Guns Before Santiago" and the caption at the top says, "See War Scenes for 'Leslie Weekly' by one of Roosevelt's Rough Riders.
