An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXVII No. 2238, it was copyrighted by the Arkell Publishing Company in New York on August 4, 1898. The front cover features an image of the "Oquendo" the day after its destruction with the title "Shot Almost To Pieces in Thirteen Minutes!" and the caption "The Spanish War-Vessel 'Oquendo,' of Cervera's Fleet, As It Appeared On The Morning Of July 4th, The Day After Its Destruction By Schley, After A Thirteen Minutes' Engagement-The Heat Of The Burning Vessel Was So Intense That The Paint Crumbled Into A White As." The image was copyrighted by W.R. Hearst and taken from photographs by J.C. Hemment.
