Description

An issue of Leslie's Weekly Illustrated, Vol. LXXXVII No. 2241. It was copyrighted by the Arkell Publishing Company on 110 Fifth Avenue and published in New York on August 25,1898. The front cover done by West Clinedinst shows U.S. Soldiers hoisting an American Flag above a building with the caption "Hoisting the American Flag over the Municipal Building at Santiago." The illustration was based off a sketch done by special war correspondent C.M. Sheldon. At the top it reads "The History of the War Continued in this Iusse, with Superb Photograph Illustration."
