1995.2.38Description
Letter from George Cortelyou to J.G. Butler congratulating him on the memorial. The letter states "Dear Mr. Butler, I was sorry not to be able to see you again before leaving Niles last Friday, and am writing just a line to repeat my hearty congratulations on the success of the exercises and the great satisfaction I feel- in common with all the associates of the late President- that through the devoted labors of your association and under the inspiration that your aggressive and loyal service gave to the undertaking there should have been achieved so dignified, beautiful and altogether appropriate a memorial. It was a great pleasure to meet you again and to have a part in the dedication exercises. With kindest regards, believe me, very sincerely yours. George Cortelyou."Collection
