Front: the letter is typed on white paper with William McKinley's letter head stating, " 3 July, 1896, Mr. Ward B. Edwards, Treasurer, Utica McKinley Club, Utica, N.Y. My dear sir: I beg you express to the members of the Utica McKinley Club my most sincere thanks for their hearty congratulations. Very truly yours, William McKinley (signature). The letter is contained within a gold frame; also containing a picture of William McKinley (right of the letter), surrounded by a beige paper, which is surrounded by a grayish-green mat.
Back: the back of the frame is covered in beige paper, in the upper left hand corner is a number 4575#1 with a stamp from CAS (Colorado Art Services: Denver, CO 80205 303-296-ARTS). The back also contains a letter stating, "This frame respects the highest standards in framing that is available today. They are artfully handcrafted to achieve the beauty and quality unique to this art. May this give you many years of pleasure, C.A.S." Colorado Art Services 1218 34th St. Denver, CO 80205 (303) 296-2787. Last, the back of the frame contains a sheet of paper with information pertaining to the letter on the front side of the item (the sheet of paper is contained within plastic.) Also, the frame is held up by a metal wire.
