A letter asking William McKinley to appoint his son as Assistant State Librarian written on lined paper. Written in pen. Two folds divide the paper in thirds vertically and one fold divides the paper in half horizontally. The uppermost top part of the paper is stained and the folds are starting to tear. The repeated phrase of "a position" is crossed out in pencil. There are small holes on the intersections of both vertical folds with the horizontal folds. The back is blank except for stains. There is a stamped seal in the top left hand corner of the paper of a laural wreath surounding a shield with a crown on top.Collection
