The item is a gold campaign button which features engraved pictures of the faces of William McKinley and Garret Hobart inside a star surrounded by olive branches. It is a piece of campaign memorabilia from the 1896 election. It features their names in a banner at the top. Inside the star it says "SOUND MONEY PROTECTION."
