This is a sage green (faded from pale blue) McKinley Calendar silk ribbon. On the front is a portrait of McKinley with the words above reading "McKinley Calendar." Below his picture read the following statements.
"Born at Niles, Ohio January 29, 1843.
Enlisted in Volunteer Infantry, 1861.
Given Rank as Major, 1865.
Elected to Congress, 1879.
Elected Governor of Ohio, 1891.
Inaugurated Pres., Mar. 4, 1897.
Inaugurated Pres., 2nd term, Mar. 4, 1901.
Shot down by an Assassin, Sept. 6, 1901.
Died at Buffalo, N. Y., Sept. 14, 1901."
"Good-bye, all, good-bye. It is God's way. His will, not ours, be done."
Next, is a table of the 1902 calendar, listing the year, months, days of the week and the dates.
At the bottom of the ribbon are words reading, "Life's work well done, Life's race well run, Life's crown well won, Now comes rest." The back is plain.Collection
