The item is a rectangular glass paperweight with rounded edges featuring a portrait of President McKinley. The backside of the paperweight has a brown seal placed over the exposed back of the picture. The seal has a brief biography of McKinley written on it. The seal says, "Martyred President William McKinley. Born, January 29th, 1843, Died September 14th, 1901. Elected to National house of Representatives in 1876, Re-Elected in 1878-80-82-84-86-88. Elected Governor of Ohio 1891. Re-Elected Governor '93. Elected President in 1896. Re-Elected President in 1900. September 6, 1901, shot twice by Leon F. Czolgosz an Anarchist, at the Pan-American Exposition ground, Buffalo, N.Y., at 4:15 P.M. and Died Sept. 14, at 2:15 A.M. The assassin tried at Buffalo, N.Y., Sept. 23, found guil-ty. Sept. 26, prisoner was sentenced to die in the Electrical chair in the week beginning Oct. 28, 1901 at Auburn, N.Y. Lewis Peters East Mauch Chunk, Pa."Collection
