Badge has three parts, all connected. The top of the badge consists of gold metal scrollwork. The middle of the badge is a satin ribbon, either grey or faded blue with the text "Republican State Convention Alternate Toledo, Ohio 1897" in gold letters. The ribbon connects the top with the bottom of the badge. The bottom of the badge consists of a circle of gold with a picture of a frog on a lily pad and butterflies in/around the grasses of a pond. There is a gouge near the top of the picture. The back of the badge has a pin clasp in gold at the top. The text "Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, New Jersey" is just beneath the pin. The rest of the back is blank.Collection
