Ornament finished in 24-carat gold. Created for the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center. The ornament is 2 x 3" and is three dimensional. It features a color cutout of The Hayes Mansion, with a banner going over it that reads "Rutherford B. Hayes presidential Center." "Spiegel Grove Fremont, OH" is written below the porch. The back is plain. The ornament is in a small square blue box. The front of the box reads "Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center Commemorative Ornament Spiegel Grove Fremont, OH" The Presidential seal is in the center and surrounded by the words "Rutherford B. Hayes 19th President 1877-1887.: All lettering and graphics are in gold. The back of the box is blue, with a small (one inch) gold oval sticker that reads "ChemArt Keepsakes etched in time. www.chemart.com 800-521-5001. 15 New England Way Lincoln, RI 02865 Made in U.S.A." There is a four page single fold insert inside the box that reads "Commemorative Ornament Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center 'The Hayes Home'" and features the same seals as on the box cover and an image of the autograph "R.B. Hayes." The second page of the insert is blank. The third pages reads " 'One thing you know that I do not want any of the sort of cottage architecture ornamentation which is so common... give it a wider porch. you know a narrow porch is utterly useless...
