Description

Ticket and description note from 1901 Pan-American Exposition held at Buffalo, New York. The description reads as follows: "The above ticket is a souvenir admission ticket to the Pan-American Exposition held in Buffalo, New York from May 1, 1901 to November, 1901. It was here that President William McKinley was assassinated in Spetember, 1901. The reverse of the ticket reads 'Bureau of Admissions and Collections/W.E. Cash/Superintendent/Wright Bank Note Engravers, Phila.'" This is framed in light wood, with the ticket and note being mounted with photo corners on black paper. The back of the item is marked "Property of George R. Bechtel 1417 Brooklyn Ave. S.W. Canton, Ohio." The provenance note also written on the back reads "Obtained December 30, 1964 Framed January 3, 1965 DuBois Atlanta, GA"
