Hardbound edition. The author demonstrates that McKinley was indeed his own man, not the puppet of Mark Hanna. Morgan demonstrates that McKinley set his own policy and that Hanna was the organizer of party machinery. Additions to the 1963 edition include additional sources, new analyses and interpretations, and a bibliographical essay discussing some of the most important works published since 1963 that included McKinley and his times. This edition includes a dust jacket. The front cover features an image of McKinley seated at his desk, with his hand on a book. The title is in white lettering, with the text "revised edition" and the author's name in white below the title. the back cover inludes a book review.
