provenance note for large wooden mallet carved of wood from the McKinley home and farm near Bayard, Ohio. The note reads as follows:
This gavel made from wood from the William McKinley Farm near Bayard, Ohio was used by Worshipful Master William P. Ealy, master of Fidelity Lodge Number 712 at Canton, Ohio to open and close Lodge on February 23, 1959.
This was the occasion of my official visit to Fidelity Lodge as speaker of the educational department of the grand Lodge. The topic was Canton's Foremost Citizen-William McKinley-25th President of the United States.Collection
