Jasmine Cardenas (b. 1996) is a Canadian-Ecuadorian multidisciplinary artist, working in sculptural painting, collage, and installation. Often influenced by family stories and traditions, lived experiences and her domestic environment, Cardenas’ work floats between real and imagined spaces. At times culturally specific, and at times intuitively lead by the tactile materials used in her practice.
Cardenas holds a BFA from OCAD University and has participated in residencies at The Maple Terrace (New York), and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (Banff). Her works are held in permanent collections including Global Affairs Canada, City of Mississauga, The Kimpton St. George, and The Drake Hotel. Jasmine is currently based in Hamilton, Ontario.Artwork Details
