This is a first edition and a landmark medical text predating Richard Bright in linking albuminuria with renal dysfunction. He separates edema caused by renal insufficiency from that resulting from diseases of the liver and heart. Blackall discusses the use of diuretics, purgatives and bloodletting while also including an early investigation into the relation between angina and cardiac disease.
