Description

Cased surgical sets made prior to the 17th century are extremely rare. This one was made by Pietro Fugini of Brescia Italy and includes a hammer and chisel along with amputation forceps which are not found in cased sets after the 18th century. The use of these instruments is illustrated in "Armamentarium Chirurgicum" (1655) by J. Scultetus.
