Artifacts recovered from the Battle of Cold Harbor, Virginia include projectiles and shells, eyeglasses, wedding ring, coins bleeders and a “met bullet” -(Union and Confederate bullets fused during the ferocity of the battle).
This was the last direct confrontation between Grant and Lee as Grant was trying to take the capitol of the Confederacy, Richmond. Grant later admitted that his charge on Confederate lines was the biggest mistake he made during the Civil War.Condition
