Description

Large species jars like this are quite fragile because the painting is on the inside. Datura is a commonly found hallucinogen and was mistaken consumed by British troops near the American colony of Jamestown Virginia.causing them to be defeated in battle. As a result the plant is also called Jimson Weed or Jamestown Weed. The illustration is from "Medical Botany" by Stephenson and Churchill.
