Search of Newspapers.com, The Merrill Star Advocate, 20 April 1894, revealed in an advertisement, that Mrs. Chandler's was "first door west of Bank Block, Main Street." Bank Block became 920-924 E. Main. First door west today would be 918 identified as 916 in early directories. Street level occupant per 1893 city directory was R. A. Wiley & Co. and in 1896 F. A. Hanover & Son, both grocers. Her store was likely above the grocer. She is not identified in either directory.
