This is a 10-inch, 33 RPM vinyl record issued by the famous Soviet state-owned record label Melodiya, featuring a collection of traditional and classical Armenian instrumental pieces and folk songs. Based on the ГОСТ 5289-68 manufacturing standard code visible on the pink and cream labels, this specific pressing dates to the late 1960s or early 1970s and was manufactured at the Aprelevka Record Plant near Moscow. The record belongs to the second price category, selling originally for 70 kopecks, and carries the individual catalog numbers Д—6675 for the first side and Д—6676 for the second side. Side one begins with "Watercolor," composed by S. Barkhudaryan and performed by An. Atabekyan on the qanun with piano accompaniment. This is followed by "Concert Scherzo," composed by S. Dzherbashyan and performed by A. Gasparyan on the tar with piano accompaniment. The third track is "Dance of Exultation," composed by G. Egiazaryan and played by I. Minasyan on the shvi, an Armenian end-blown flute listed here under its Russian equivalent, the svirel, backed by a piano. The final two tracks on this side are traditional folk melodies: the first is "Khanum Eva Jan," featuring the iconic duduk master L. Side two features a distinct handwritten ownership mark in red ink, where the name Sirik (Սիրիկ) is written in Armenian cursive script across both sides of the center hole. This side opens with "Fantasy," composed by A. Mailyan and performed by A. Gasparyan on the tar. Next is the folk melody "Nightingale," played by I. Minasyan on the shvi with a folk instrument ensemble. The third track is the "Artashat Dance," composed by G. Adamyan and performed by An. Atabekyan on the qanun with ensemble accompaniment. This is followed by the deeply famous folk song "Hov Sirun Sirun," performed on the duduk by L. Madoyan alongside a folk instrument ensemble.
