The first Armenian-language book in the United States was published in 1857, when few Armenians lived in the New World. From 1857 to 1888, American missionaries in New York handled all Armenian printing in the U.S., producing around 40 titles, including religious texts and multiple editions of The Pilgrim’s Progress. These books were then sent to missionary posts in the Armenian provinces of the Ottoman Empire.
This book, one of the earliest Armenian publications in the United States, is a translation of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come.Book Details
