Description

Dr. M. Sumpad Gabriel (1856–1919), the eldest and most educated son of his family, adopted his father’s first name upon his arrival in America, choosing to forgo the surname Kaprelian. He left Egin well before the massacre and graduated from Aintab College in Turkey before continuing his medical studies in Paris. After completing his medical education, he moved to the United States, establishing a practice on 23rd Street near 9th Avenue in New York City until health issues compelled him to retire. Dr. Gabriel was proficient in Armenian, French, English, and Turkish, showcasing exceptional command of these languages. He was also a skilled public speaker, effectively utilizing his multilingual abilities. He died only four years after the publication of this book.
