Sharam Mechigian was born in Istanbul, Turkey, to an Armenian family originally from Erzincan. He had two older brothers, Garbis and Aram, both born in Erzincan. Born in Constantinople, he later immigrated to the United States and settled in Michigan, where his brothers had already established their lives. There, he built a family of his own, marrying Arpie and raising two children, Aram and Nancy. After his brother Aram’s tragic passing in an automobile accident, Sharam joined Garbis in running A.G.S. Leather Company. He remained dedicated to the family business for many years. Sharam passed away on August 13, 1996, in Michigan.Created By
