Նախագիծ Ժողովրդական Ինքնապաշտպանութեան. Naxagic Zhoghovrdakan Inqnapashpanutyan. Project of National Defense.Description
After the Armeno-Tatar clashes, Nikol Duman’s friends suggested he create a self-defense guide for Armenians, leading to his work “Project for Popular Self-Defense.” The guide covers organization, defense, and attack, emphasizing that in national conflicts, both sides suffer, but the weaker side more so, both physically and culturally.
Duman stresses the importance of organized combat, which requires understanding the situation, discipline, and flexibility in attack and defense. Secrecy is key, with locals playing a central role in the organization. Weapon mastery, particularly through hunting, is vital for self-defense.
Duman divides self-defense into urban, village, and regional strategies, focusing on mutual aid between cities and surrounding villages. Attacks are necessary to ensure self-defense, keeping the enemy off-balance and preventing their consolidation. Frequent strikes weaken the enemy, making their defeat inevitable.
Nikol Duman’s “Project for Popular Self-Defense” is truly a military-strategic “complete machine, whose orderly movement would be disrupted if even a single screw were removed.” He writes that the Armenian people are facing the threat of extermination, and thus “any hesitation is now a crime. Every person who understands the seriousness of the situation must speak out and urge the three main segments of the Armenian nation to prepare for self-defense.”Book Details
