Note

Evidence indicates that Nazeli Shahinian (12 October 1881–15 October 1946) emigrated to the United States in August 1920 and settled in New York City. She was born in 1881 to Varastad Pedian and Mariam. Nazeli appears in records as a member of the Sepastia Armenian organization in New York. According to the 1940 U.S. census, she reported having six children; at that time, she was living with one of them, her son Harry. Nazeli married at the age of 21. She died on 15 October 1946 in New York, likely at her residence at 43-28 41st Street in Queens. She was buried at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago. At least one of her children, Harry Shahinian, was born in Sivas in 1908 and later immigrated to the United States, where he lived with his mother. He died in 1958.
