Photograph of Srpuhi (Çalıkyan) Orakyan. Photograph is from the studio of Nicolas Andriomenos (1851–1929) who was an Ottoman-Greek photographer active in Constantinople, known for his studio portraiture. In 1909 he relocated his Pera studio to 162 Rue de Pera, where he produced formal portraits of the city’s elite and diverse communities. Photographs bearing this address date from 1909 until his death in 1929 and reflect his mature style, emphasizing elegant studio composition over commercial or tourist imagery. His work is valued today for documenting early twentieth-century Constantinople society.
