May 1914 My dear “Pasha”, It has been three days that I’ve been waiting for your postcard. On Wednesday, Mother and I came down. I sent her straight to the bridge. I was on the Constantinople side. You didn’t even come out of the printing house for lunch so that we could see each other. Or were you perhaps busy with “D. G. A.”? In the evening, we took the 7:24 train, hoping that at least you would come to the station, but, as I wrote above, you must have been busy. May (…) watch over you as she did on the day of the illumination/festival. Ah, my sweet Pasha, I miss you very much. It seems I’ll have to endure it until Sunday as well. I’ve had this postcard with me since this morning, but I haven’t had a moment to write. Now it’s become dark, and I can hardly see anymore. Tomorrow I’ll definitely be waiting for your postcard—be sure to write. Mother sends her regards. I remain your lover…Category
