*NOT ARMENIAN RELATED* A house together with its courtyard and appurtenances (havlu müştemilat), whose boundaries are written above and known, belonged to a woman named Dudu Hatun, who had formerly resided among the inhabitants of our quarter but had passed away some time ago. The aforementioned house passed by inheritance (intikal) to Tenife Hatun. Since the said house was not under anyone’s seizure, attachment, or claim (taht-ı haciz ve rahnında / rahtında), and there existed no impediment to its inheritance; and since no person had any intervention, claim, or interest in it; and as the aforementioned Tenife had no outstanding obligations to the Imperial Treasury (zimmet-i miriyye) according to the old and current registers, she sold the said house to Mustafa for one thousand seven hundred kuruş. As we possess full knowledge of these matters, this certificate of testimony (şehadetname) was submitted to the relevant official authority for endorsement/sealing. Dated 24 Teşrinisani (November) 1302 [Ottoman fiscal/Rumi year = 1886], and 10 Rabiʿ al-Awwal 1304 [Islamic calendar = late 1886 / early 1887].
