Description

Lemarie Paris Binoculars, thought to be a WWI Vet bringback, but may be Civil War. Civil War Era Binoculars, By LeMaire of Paris, France, Fine. 6” x 5.5” binoculars used during the Civil War. LeMaire of Paris, France was one of the major world suppliers of binoculars and these were popular with officers on both sides of the war. The binoculars are marked ""LeMaire Fabt Paris"" on each eyepiece with the small bee logo. The body of the brass piece is green in color which is most likely the oxidation over time; however, the extendable sun shades are intact and the range finder is in working order. An interesting artifact of the Civil War era.
