Description

Ffoul weather hood for the M1 Abrams series of Main Battle Tank. Used by TACOM M1 Abrams Materiel Fielding Team (MFT) quality lead, Robert Causley in Europe 1983-1988. This was not an issue item. According to Robert Causley, who was the M1 Abrams Material Fielding Team Quality lead in Europe from 1983-1988, this hood was sent to Rose barracks in Viseck, Germany, sometime in the mid 80’s because the GDLS test drivers were tired of getting wet while test driving the Abrams tanks before they were handed off to the units. It is believed these hoods were also used at the Warren Tank Arsenal when doing the comparison tests in winter months. It is unknown how many of these hoods were actually made, but it appears it was a small number.
