Description

Pashtun Male Kameez type outfit presumably worn during "Jirgas" or Tribal meetings in Afghan ethnic regions. Paul Kondrat did 4 tours in Afghanistan as a Civil Affairs Officer and self-taught Pashto in order to aid the ISAF mission. Being able to speak and understand local elders would help Marines under his command be able to improve relations with the people and help steer them away from assisting the Taliban. This outfit was locally produced, although the Keffiyeh/Shemagh scarf appears to be commercial. Kuchi-type tribal cap, and locally produced bracelet. The included rug can be used as a prayer mat or a sitting mat depending on context.
