Aberdeen Proving Grounds Crying Towel

Name/Title

Aberdeen Proving Grounds "Crying Towel"

Entry/Object ID

Description

Woven towel made by Dundee. Crying Towel T.S. Club No. 5, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. Arrived with death card for Stanislaw Strzelecki (1890-1967) who served in WWI. Based on the art, I would place this as a Korean War piece. There is a laundry stamp on the back "S-9920" it is possible this is from the son Thaddeus Strzelecki (1929-2008) The family resided in Mt. Clemens, MI The towel is signed by various people, but none of the signatures look like Thaddeus Strzelecki, but it would make sense that he did not sign his own towel.
