re-interment card for Private Joe F. Filip, KIA in France, July 9, 1944. Re-intered at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on July 19, 1948 Cards were found in the pocket of Tech 2 John Phillips uniform jacket (brothers spelled their last name either Phillip, Filip), it is likely the last time he donned his uniform was for the funerals of the men on the four cards in his pocket, including his brother Joe. Pvt. Fillip was serving with the 491st Medical Collecting Company when he was killed By shrapnel in the back near St. Mere Eglise in Normandy, France, on July 9, 1944.
