Hello,
My name is Carole Frocillo and I am a fiber artist. I was married for 43 years to Erminio D. Frocillo and who proudly served the military from 1962 to 1965 serving in the 3D Admin. CO 3D Infantry. After he left the military, he realized that his love and service to Country could not be forgotten. During the time he was considering re-enlistment, he was involved in an auto accident which left him a paraplegic. He was a man deeply devoted to his Country and was never quite the same after the attack on the Twin Towers. He and my daughter sat and watched in disbelief that entire day. He never quite recovered from the fact that his Country was attacked.
In dealing with his loss in 2010, I decided to create an art piece dedicated to his memory which is called, “Fabric Of Freedom”. It has won several awards and been shown in various galleries around Wisconsin where we have lived for the past 35 years. Born and raised in Michigan, Erminio spent his early life in Dearborn and we spent our first married years in Warren, MI. Embedded in the piece are pieces of his DD214 as well as other ephemera.
I am in the process of moving from Wisconsin to California to be closer to my daughter. I am looking to donate the piece to a Michigan Military Museum. It is valued at $750. Please review the images below. If you are interested, I would gladly pay for packing and shipping to know that it will be displayed and his memory will be honored. All I would need would be a letter verifying the donation for tax purposes.
Below is my website where the piece and a description are listed.
