Description

The High Pressure liner emerged as the best liner for our nations combat forces, serving well into the 1960’s when it was replaced by a nylon based liner. These liners were manufactured by taking strips of duck-cloth impregnated with resin and placing them in a mold inside a hydraulic press. They were cured at 150 tons of pressure and 220 degrees for about two minutes, resulting in a smooth, hard shell. This unpainted Capac manufactured liner clearly shows how the different strips of duck-cloth were laid in the mold before being pressed. 600,000 were made 1942-1945
