one length of chaff or "window" brought back from WWII by East Detroit native Robert Linenger
Chaff or "window" as the British called it was dropped in quantity from aircraft to confuse German radar. This piece was picked up in Belgium by US 9th Armored Division Veteran Robert Linenger. He had several pieces pressed in a book, he gave the museum one(1).
He indicated that they would gather up the chaff and use it to decorate Christmas trees in the winter of 1944.Cataloged By
